Previous decades witnessed revolutionary shift in information and technology fields. Almost every
aspect in the human life enjoys the tremendous development of information and technology. In the
same vein, as in every other field, according to Transue (2013), the field of education is also
passing through a stage of incredible change. Prior to the development of information technology,
there was no term for defining “distance/online learning”. However, the revolutionary
development assisted learners to get the required educational materials knowledge from outside
the class. Similar to computer-assisted language learning (CALL), over the past several years, mlearning has also featured in the development of foreign language learning (EFL) has undergone.
Research showed that m-learning technologies can be effectively used in different parts of the
language learning for example in vocabulary teaching (Kim & Kim, 2012), to facilitate grammar
teaching and help enhance reading skills (Hsu, Hwang & Chang, 2013) and to enhance writing
skills (Ivić & Jakopec, 2016).
